Community is Our Home Court
Portland isn’t just where we play. It’s who we play for.
We bring the Fire beyond the arena and into the schools, neighborhoods, nonprofits, and community spaces that make Portland home.
Through meaningful partnerships and more than 20,000 community touchpoints, we are building connection, creating access and investing in our community.
The Heart of the Fire
Basketball gives us a platform. We use it to create possibility.
Our Community Impact work centers youth and education, health and wellness, culture, access, local business, and neighborhood investment.
Together with our community partners, we are opening doors, expanding opportunity and creating lasting impact across Portland.
Because what we build together matters far beyond the game.
Focus
Build with community, not just for it. Listen first, create meaningful partnerships, and invest in programs shaped by the voices, strengths, and priorities of the communities we serve.
Community Firestarters
Firestarters spark change; they are game-changers who move communities forward.
This recognition celebrates individuals who make a difference through leadership, service, advocacy, and impact.
Selected Community Firestarters will be recognized in-arena and celebrated by the Portland Fire community as we honor those shaping our city and build a new legacy together.

TorchBearer Legacy Award
The TorchBearer Legacy Award honors a leader whose vision, service, and lasting impact inspire others to lead and strengthen our community. By carrying the torch, they ignite the next generation of Firestarters, proving that every lasting movement begins with one person willing to light the way.

Community Impact
Community is our home court. Portland Fire is committed to using the power of basketball to create access, opportunity and connection across Portland. From youth development and education to breast health, community court renovations and local partnerships, we’re showing up where our community lives, works and plays. Through signature initiatives like Mammogram March Madness & Beyond, Community Firestarters, the TorchBearer Legacy Award, the Watch Party Bar Network, and our Harriet Tubman Middle School and Parkrose collaborations, we’re making an impact beyond the arena.
